We give glory to the almighty God for the successful completion of 2007/08 session for seeing us through the year 2008 and the beginning of 2009 . May this new year be a year of joy,Peace and acclarmation of God’s blessing in our lives. There is a tremendous change in academic performance of our student as well as school Administration . Here are some of our Achievements :

A    ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

1        EXTERNAL EXAMINATION  : In 2007/08 academic session,we enrolled 35 and 36 students for WASSCE AND JSCE as well NECO SSCE and NECOJSCE respectively. The best 3 results in all the four examinations attended by our students are sa follows:

  11  INTERNAL EXAMINATION:   With the introduction of vertical teaching which involves bringing all the students across each level together in each subject twice in a week  to teach basic concept of different topics has in no doubt the students more good and in turn improve their performance generally.Not only that,extra attention as well as exral lessons were given to the slow learners through the report from the continous assessment committees and the counselling unit.There is tremendous improvement in the internal results of the students in the last twelve months.

B    COMPETITIONS :  As part of our culture to build up students who can stand their counterparts in academics excellence, our students attended various competition in 2008/09 academic session which includes the following:

I     SPELL IT COMPETITION :  We are happy to inform you that one of our students Ndarake George came 4th at the National Final Stage of the competition which was held at Grace High School  Gbagada, Lagos.

                                                                        

 

 

   

II    NATIONAL ICT COMPETITION: Our students participated in the National ICT competition organised by the National Communication Commission NCC for the secondary school students in Nigeria. It our joy to announce to you that the college came First at the end of the competition and the college was given 2 notebooks computes and a detacheable D.V.D ROM.

III  COWBELL COMPETITION : The students who attended this year cowbell competition put up brilliant performance but the result was not encouraging most especially in the area of their mathematic but we believe with management decision to establish a mathematics club, this low performance in mathematic will be corrected and taken care off.

 UNIVERSAL CHORAL DANCING COMPETITION: In triple crown college, through our various extra curricullum activities , we encourage development of talent noticed in some student. To this end , we enrolled our student for universal choral Dancing competition organised  for the secondary school students in Nigeria . The student of the college came first at the final stage held at national stadium lagos which gave the college students to represent Nigeria at the International final stage of the Competition which will be held in Germny latet in the year.

  

C       STAFF/STAFF TRAINING : At Triple Crown Coolege, It is our tradition to maintain 2 teachers to a subjects so that in case their is sudden left of any teacher,a vaccum will not be created, we thank God that we that despite the high demand on salary by teachers,we still continue to maintain this tradition.Presently, there are 33 Staff members including both teaching and non-teaching Staff and also 2 specialist teachers in the areas of computer.

 I         TEACHER’S ATTENDANCE : In the last 12 Months,our Staff had an average attendance of     rate of 90 / when considering sick or Family Leave.

11       STUDENT ATTENDANCE   :  In the last 12 Students our average students attendance has been 95/ of possible school days.

111    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT : Some Member of Staff participated in profession both externally and also through participating in professional learnig team.Staff  participated in the following external  professional Development programmes

D     SPORTS : T he importance of sports and physical fitness cannot be over emphasised both in mental,emotional and spiritual development of an individual because one can only have a sound mind in a sound body.Base on this,our biennial inter-house sports competition was held in this session at the Unilag Sport complex where THERESA HOUSE became the overral winner.Apart from this in the last 12 months,the management gave sports further priority by employing the services of 2 trainners in basketball and swimming to train our students in these sports on every Fridays of a week to compliments already existing games in the school. The students school relay team went for school relay races from differents who invited the school during their inter – house competition.

E    ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMES :  Every thing that happens in a school and in this instance in our school should be borne from our vision. In the last twelve months,the management introduced some new additional programmes which which we believe we lead us towards achieving the college vision. These programmes includes:

 I   MINDLABORATORY : Mindlab is a new innovation method of teaching using games as an instrument.This method was originated from Isreal.The mindlab method has been operating with resounding success in thousands of educational institutions abroad and has enriched the lives of more than one million students in over 20 countries around the world including the U.S.A, U.K, Korea, Spain, Hungary,Mexico to mention but a few.Mindlab innovative progamme involves students use of a wide variety of games to discovered and develope thinking, social and emotional concepts and then apply to schoolistic achievements and to life itself.This methods of teaching also help students sharpen their thinking and develop skill such as problems solving,stategic thinking,emotional intelligence,interpersonal skills and mathematic skills. Triple Crown College was the foremost school in Nigeria to embrace this new methods of teaching and it fully in operation in the school.Aparts from this numerous benefits,it also give the college students the opportunity to participate in the yealy mindlab olympia competition organise by mindlab group amongst different countries of the world that embrace this method of teaching.

II   INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY :   In the last twelve months,the college management has employed the services of Karox, an international  ICT company to improve the students knowledge in various computer programmes and information technology with a few to develop students professionally, with this level of expoture there their stay in the school,it will not be neccessary for go for six months computer trainnig ussuall undertake after leaving secondary school since recently most of the Universities has now embrace the use of computer during their post UME examination and online registration.

F    SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS : 2008/09 Academic session has been quite exciting with numerous significant development and changes taking place at Triple Crown College.The change witnessed in the last twelve months are :

·         Purchasing of 2 additional new Buses

·         Establishment of College Website

·         Putting internet wire connectivity to about 20 points in the school compound/classrooms/floors to enable our students  to have free access to internet for the purpose of online assigments and during teaching-learning period.

·         Procuiment of 50 new morden classroom lockers and Desks to replace the old ones

·         Provision of online checking of results/assessment on the internet

 

G     STUDENTS EXCURTION/TRAINNIG  : Apart from Staff trainnig,students of the college were not left out of trainning and different field trips outside the classrooms to make teaching-learning more meaningful.The field trip/training participated by our students in the last academics session includes :

·         Leadership training programme at Seaschool Apapa

·         Children Parliament organised  by AFRIBANK PLC in Victoria Island

·         Seminal Organised by APEN on ‘ YES I CAN ‘ held at Grace High School in Gbagada, Lagos

·         Visit to  a law firm

·         Field trip to Slavery Region in Badagary

·         Visit to Ibadan Polytecnic Library

H      AWARDS

·           Nominated as the of the the best ICT driven Secondary School in Nigeria by NCC

·          

 

I      FUTURE PLAN : Due to lack of confident in most of our examination Bodies due examination malpractice which lowers  the credibily of the results obtain by most students due to cheating during external examination,the college is planning in the next academic session to expose our students to foreing examinations such as IGSC,LONDON GCE amongst others which we believe is more credible and can reflect the true performance of a student.

 

J     APPRECIATIONS :  I want to use this medium unbehave of the management to thank and salute the effors of the school Board of Governors and P.T.A Exco Members for their active performance over the last twelve Months. We appreciate the the effort of P.T.A Exco Members for flooring 4 classrooms and toilets with mordern tiles as well as organising Teachers – Appreciation day for all  teaching and non teachin Staff  unbahave of the parents of the College.The management wishes the Members of Board of Governors,P.T.A Exco and our dear Parents God’s blessings always

 

 In conclusion,one of our major goals and aspiratios is to continue to strive towards futher improvement and we have shown we are best able to do this when we do it collectively, I look forward to the next academic session as we work together, building on the achievement of the past.
